NONSITE || CAConrad and Frank Sherlock: Dialog and Workshop

Together with Small Press Traffic, the Nonsite Collective is co-sponsoring a dialogue and writing workshop with Frank Sherlock and CAConrad, who promise to stimulate poetic interventions into the present, past, and future life of the city.

The event:

1 PM - 4 PM
at 935 Natoma Street in San Francisco
(btwn. 10th and 11th and btwn. Mission and Howard)
Close to Van Ness and Market (Muni) or Civic Center (BART)
 
There is a requested contribution for this event that will go to the artists:
$25 // $20 for Nonsite Collective participants and SPT members and students.
No one tunred away!

This event will contribute to several Nonsite curricula and ongoing investigations: Aesthetics as Somatic Practice and Spatial Practices.

CAConrad is the recipient of THE GIL OTT BOOK AWARD for The Book of Frank (Chax Press, 2009). He is also the author of Advanced Elvis Course (Soft Skull Press, 2009), (Soma)tic Midge (Faux Press, 2008), Deviant Propulsion (Soft Skull Press, 2006), and a forthcoming collaboration with poet Frank Sherlock titled THE CITY REAL & IMAGINED: Philadelphia Poems (Factory School Books, 2010). CAConrad is the son of white trash asphyxiation whose childhood included selling cut flowers along the highway for his mother and helping her shoplift. Frank Sherlock
 
Frank Sherlock is the author of Over Here (Factory School 2009) and the co-author of Ready-To-Eat Individual (Lavender Ink 2008) with Brett Evans. A collaboration with CAConrad entitled The City Real & Imagined: Philadelphia Poems is forthcoming from Factory School later in January 2010. He currently works with the Philadelphia Mural Arts Program on Journeys South, a public art project that documents immigrant/migrant experiences in South Philly.
